Audubon's Earth Day Celebration

You can make a difference in the world around you.  Come and find out how!  Celebrate the wonders and diversity of planet Earth - and explore many of the environmental challenges it now faces. Discover seven simple solutions that you can do to help the environment - one for each day of the week.  Kids receive a "Passport to Save the Planet," and tally stamps at stations as they learn new ways to conserve water and electricity, reduce waste in the landfill, and help Mom and Dad make better choices for the environment.

The celebration is full of activities for nature enthusiasts of all ages and interests. Take a guided nature hike on the refuge trails down to Narragansett Bay or join an animal interview and learn about some amazing critters.  Highlights will include shows by Sparky's Puppets, crafts, children's activities, nature stories, lectures, and exhibitions by Rhode Island 's leading environmental organizations.

Saving the planet starts with simple, everyday decisions - like your choice of shopping bags.  Paper or plastic? How about neither?  Consider bringing reusable bags every time you shop.  The first 500 visitors to Earth Day 2008 receive a free fabric shopping bag courtesy of Coast to Coast Promotional Products.
